10 Date Night Ideas, on a Budget!

Arcade Date Night, Ideas for Dating on a Budget

As a newlywed, can you guess what my biggest struggle is? Besides my new hubby’s deafening snores (currently happening as I type this out, funnily enough)… It’s finances! Y’all, we are absolutely on the struggle bus when it comes to money. We’re broke and we’re proud! But… we’d also like to still have fun and be normal people somehow, am I right? Unfortunately those things do NOT go hand in hand. Jacks + I have been extremely creative when it comes to dating each other the past few months. We have come across some really cool ideas, books, etc to help us plan fun date nights, you guessed it, on a budget! Because like J.Lo said, “Love don’t cost a thing!” Or at least, not a lot.

Here’s a list of some of our favorite, but not totally lame and boring, affordable date ideas for you + your hottie.

  • Picnic at the Park – Who doesn’t love a good picnic? (if they don’t, then they’re not the one for you!) Go to the grocery store together to grab your favorite snacks, pack the picnic basket, grab a blanket. Easy peasy.
  • Arcade Night – Lots of time, without spending a dime (okay you’re spending more than a dime but you get it). Check out some of our favorite local arcades here!
  • Fairs + Festivals – Everyone loves cotton candy + a corn dog, duh.
  • Drive-Thru Date – We love to get comfy in our sweats, hit the drive-thru, and eat in the car. No distractions, just you + your boo thang.
  • Berry Picking – This is one of my favorite things to do! Depending on your location + the season, obvi, but it’s so fun! Plus, is there anything more romantic than walking through an orchard together? Of course not.
  • Game Night – This seems like a no brainer, but game nights are totally slept on. Check out some of our favorite games here!
  • Browse a Bookstore – Okay, I know this actually does sound totally lame + boring, but we’ve had so much fun walking through bookstores. Finding a funny book or a book from your childhood is a great way to start up a conversation + laugh together!
  • Go on a Walk – Going on a walk together + a great way to connect + learn more about your s/o. Quality time for the win!
  • Farmer’s Market – Check out your local farmer’s market! Fresh air + fresh fruits? Yes, please.
  • Binge Watch – Pick your favorite movies/show, grab your favorite snacks + y’all are set! It’s also way fun to build a fort + hang some string-lights! How cute is that?

Save these 10 Date Night Ideas on a Budget for your next night out! Let me know how it goes!

Game Night for the Win!

Game Night Ideas

Growing up, my family didn’t play a ton of games. No hate on y’all that did, it just wasn’t our thing, ya know? But man, I have married into the biggest card/board game family of all time. It’s honestly so much fun! Whenever there is a second of downtime, you’ll find his grandpa pulling out a folding table for cards, or everyone piling together around the kitchen table for a board game. In the few years that I’ve joined the Adams clan, I have discovered a HUGE love for games! They always seem to have some cool new board game I’ve never heard of, or a new card game with the funniest rules! It’s always such a blast. So, for those of you nerds who love games as much as our fam does, this post is for y’all! Game night for the win!

Five Crowns – Ages 8+, really simple to learn, + can be played with so many people!

I’m a Little Crabby – This can be played with up to 10 players + it is so hilarious! This game is all about being sneaky, coming up with the best hand signals, + catching your opponents in the act. SO much fun! One of our family favorites, for sure!

Cover Your Assets – Ages 7+, competitive, + really fun for everyone! This game is all about matching + outsmarting your opponents. Good for 2-6 people!

Skull King – Ages 8+, pirate-themed, and all about trickery! This game is really fun + can be played in a short amount of time.

Tenzi – Okay, this is one of my personal favorites! The rules are minimal, it can be played out as long or as quick as you need, and everyone has a blast!

Rummikub – This tile game is for 2-4 players (it has a 6 player version too!) + is so fun! It’s really different from other games I’ve played. It’s perfect for playing with all ages!

Quicktionary – This game is so easy to learn + really fast paced! It’s even fun with only 2 players!

Brain Freeze – This game is all about speed + thinking on your feet! A great game + quick to play.

Let me know what y’all think of these games! Want some more ideas? Let me know!
